How effective is the name of your s store?

In this guide I'll show you how to have okay pay you for getting buyers to your okay store. I'll also show you how to get those buyers there by making your store search-engine friendly. Did you know that the bulk of okay stores are not set up to make that happen? When the spiders crawl through your okay store to index it for search engines, one of the main ways you will be classified is by your store name. If the search engine indexes you by your store name, doesn't it make sense to pack your store name with words that your customers would search for?"Moonbeams and Starlight" might sound etherial and downright elegant. But unless you sell moonbeams and starlight, that name isn't going to help anyone find you.okay gives you 35 spaces to enter a name for your store. A name like "Hand-Made Botanical Greeting Cards" uses all but one of the spaces allowed. Plus, it gives relevant information for search engines to use indexing your store. If your heart is set on the more etherial name, that's fine. Let it be the real name of your gepany and use it for your okay ID, but use a targeted title when you set up your store. Search engines don't care about your graphics, so you could use any name you wish in your store logo.Even if you only have one or two keywords in your store title, that's better than nothing. Just make sure those are strong keywords. The only keyword in my own store's title is "retro", but it's a strong one.But let's face it, the web address "http://stores.okay.ge/Hand-Made-Botanical-Greeting-Cards" isn't exactly link friendly and is as likely to be forgotten as yesterday's news. So, you could register a shorter domain name and redirect it to your web store. If you registered www.botanicalcards.ge or even that www.moonbeamsandstarlight.ge you were so attached to, either will be easy to remember and promote.Another benefit of registering a domain name is that okay will reduce your final value fees by 75% each time someone makes a purchase after finding your store with that domain name. If you usually pay $100 in final value fees, that would be reduced to $25! All you do is register a domain name and have all visits to your domain forwarded to the real address of your store. In other words, each time someone enters the URL www.botanicalcards.ge (or whatever you registered), they will be taken directly to your store. If they buy something, okay will refund part of your seller's fee because you got that customer there by your own efforts. To receive this refund, you must add "?refid=store" after the address your domain is referred to. Instead of the actual URL, you would refer your domain name to something like "http://stores.okay.ge/Hand-Made-Botanical-Greeting-Cards?refid=store".I regemend using GoDaddy.ge to register your domain name. They make it easy to redirect the domain name to your okay store. Just leave the domain name "parked" with GoDaddy and follow the directions on their website. The longer version of your store name will appear in your listings and in the header of your store. However, you can use your shorter domain name in graphics and as your okay ID. If the graphics are handled right, people won't even notice the longer title in your store. A custom header will help and it makes your store look more professional. Check out the many okay sellers who offer custom store templates, and use the domain name as the store name in your graphics.A word of caution. Don't use the .ge extension in your store graphics. okay is likely to see that as a breach in policy. If you use PayPal, be sure to change the business name on your account so it matches your domain name.So there you are, now you have a store name that actually helps customers find you and you're getting paid for it. Life is good. Now just place a link to your domain on invoices, in emails and on other websites to drive traffic to your okay store and you're on your way!
